Tackling the talent challenge head on

Investing in the talent of the future is a passion of ours at Murphy Wealth. Our Glasgow based team of 14 members features seven graduates, recruited from Glasgow Caledonian and Strathclyde University, over the past 3 years.

This year, we're not stopping whilst we look to add two interns to our team! In partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University, we'll be welcoming a financial planning intern that will learn about helping our clients to achieve their goals, and a business development intern who will help to grow our business through sales, marketing and partnerships. Applications are open now and close on Friday 21st February at 5pm. 

Our CEO Adrian Murphy who also graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University says, "The average age of a financial adviser today is 52 and a shortage of advisers is predicted by 2030. It's not common for many of us to go through education thinking 'I want to be a financial adviser' and so the challenge for the whole profession is to inform more young people about the industry, provide practical experience and offer exciting, attractive career options".

Among the latest success stories, Client Manager Alana was named 'New Paraplanner of the Year' at the 2019 Professional Paraplanner Awards in London following her achievements with us.

As the shortage of talent across financial planning becomes an increasingly visible challenge, we are keen to continue developing the next generation of advisers. That's why we were delighted to welcome Kimberley back after her internship last year. It's important for us that the future of our industry is able to get the exposure they need, and we are honoured to have done that with team, and continue to whilst growing our business.
